If you like a lot of gore with your horror, Autopsy, directed by Adam Gierasch, should suffice your bloody needs.

Autopsy opens with a group of friends enjoying Mardi Gras. We see a sequence of photographs of them drinking heavily, partying, and having fun like all young adults do in New Orleans. Driving home in the early hours of the morning, the group, consisting of Emily (Jessica Lowndes- 90210), Bobby (Ross Kohn- Re-Cut), Jude (Ross McCall- Green Street Hooligans), Clare (Ashley Schneider- The House Bunny), and Dmitriy (Arcadiy Golubovich- High School), crash their car on a deserted highway.

Shaken but not seriously hurt, they get out of the vehicle, and shockingly, there’s a blood soaked man underneath the car wearing a hospital gown. Still alive, but spewing blood, the group begin to panic when out of nowhere an ambulance appears and two unconvincing ‘paramedics’ step out and unceremoniously load the poor old guy onto a stretcher. They convince the teens to get in the ambulance with them to get themselves checked out.

The ambulance unloads them at the dimly-lit, unoccupied emergency room of Mercy Hospital. The raging, dying man is wheeled off somewhere and the kids are left with prim and proper Nurse Marian (Jenette Goldstein- Titanic). After Jude unsuccessfully tries to get a doctor to look at him, Emily notices that her boyfriend Bobby is bleeding from his stomach. Bringing it to Nurse Marian’s attention Bobby lifts up his shirt and reveals a piece of glass lodged in his side in which he tries to pull out. Quickly whisked away on a stretcher, Emily is held back by Nurse Marian as Bobby is pulled out of sight.

This is where things start to get bloody. After seeing Dr. Benway (Robert Patrick- True Blood, Terminator 2: Judgment Day), and receiving a rather bizarre spinal tap, Emily decides to go on the hunt for her boyfriend. I won’t spoil what happens, but there are some graphic scenes that depict the spilling of organs and entrails, many body parts to be seen, and the ending surprise for Emily was a nice shocking surprise and something I had never seen before.

I’d recommend Autopsy for fans of the gore. You won’t be disappointed.
