Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween) and Emma Roberts (Scream 4) have both signed on to a new project from American Horror Story executive producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di Loreto. The horror-comedy anthology series is appropriately titled Scream Queens.
The first season of the program will take place on a college campus plagued by a series of murders. The premier season will consist of fifteen hour-long episodes. We have learned that the series will begin lensing this Spring and will make its premiere as part of the FOX Fall, 2015 primetime lineup.
Roberts has a long history with Ryan Murphy as a series regular on two seasons of American Horror Story. She also earned scream queen credibility when she landed a starring role in Wes Craven‘s Scream 4. Jamie Lee Curtis is naturally familiar to horror fans from her involvement with the Halloween franchise and from her appearance in series of ’80s slasher films, including Prom Night and Terror Train.
Little else is known about the upcoming series at this time but we will keep you in the loop as more is learned about the series. Murphy seems to have the golden touch, so hopefully he will be able to make this latest venture a success.
