Slenderman to to Terrorize SXSW via HBO Documentary Films

Creepy pastas - Slender Man

The Slenderman is perhaps more prominent than he’s ever been right now. Rumors have even circulated that he may feature in the new season of American Horror Story. The character has developed a storied history in the five short years since he first haunted the Internet. To say the least, he is easily the most well known Creepy Pasta on the Worldwide Web. He was even cited as the reason two young girls in Waukesha, Wisconsin repeatedly stabbed one of their classmates 19 times. The young ladies’ only explanation for their tragic act of violence was that they did to please The Slenderman.

With all of the attention the character has been getting, it was just a matter of time before someone set out to make a documentary chronicling his rise to prominence. And filmmaker Irene Taylor Brodsky has done just that. The award-winning director’s new film, Beware the Slenderman will make its world premiere at SXSW March 11th at 9pm at the Topfer Theatre. It will presumably make its television debut on HBO sometime thereafter.

According to IndieWire, Brodsky was granted exclusive access to the families of both girls involved with the 2014 stabbing of their classmate.

IndieWire was able to snag an exclusive poster debut in support of the film’s impending release. We have it available for you to check out below!
