Saw: Legacy To Shoot This Fall!?

Saw - Wan and Whannell

Saw movie Saw: Legacy

It’s been so long since we’ve heard anything tangible about the upcoming eighth installment in the unstoppable Saw series that we were beginning to think the movie was never going to happen.

Last we heard, John Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger (the duo behind Piranha 3DD and Sorority Row) were tackling the script, while series creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell were acting as executive producers. And…that was it. No casting news, no plot synopsis. Nothing.

But now, finally, we might have some real Saw: Legacy news. According to a listing on IATSE873 (see screen-grab below), a site that supports a union of stage, theater and movie employees/operators, the flick is due to begin filming in Toronto this September.

The posting also confirms that Dan Heffner and Oren Koules, who have produced every Saw film thus far, will be doing so again for Legacy.

That’s kind of it for now, but it’s a tantalising teaser on its own – particularly after months of radio silence. Stay tuned to Wicked Horror for all the need-to-know details on Saw: Legacy as they are made available to us!
