Rings was previously slated for a November 2015 release but we have now learned that the flick will see an April 1, 2016 release. No, that is not an early April Fool’s.
As we previously reported, Javier Gutiérrez, the director of the upcoming installment, has promised that his new film will absolutely be a sequel and not a prequel to The Ring.
Akiva Goldsman, David Loucka and Jacob Aaron Estes co-penned the script, which is based on a novel by Koji Suzuki. F. Javier Gutiérrez will be assuming directorial duties on the project.
