Rejoice! Jamie Lee Curtis Returning To Halloween!

Those still nervous about the upcoming Halloween reboot can rest somewhat easier today. Not only is series creator John Carpenter on board as an executive producer, but one, very important cast member is set to reappear, thereby righting one of the most egregious wrongs in horror history.

Jamie Lee Curtis is set to reprise her iconic role as Laurie Strode (who, as most of you will recall, was unceremoniously offed in a previous installment in the franchise that we can all now happily pretend does not exist) in the upcoming movie, set for a 2018 release.

Strode will face Michael Myers for the final time (maybe?) since he first stalked she and her friends that fateful Halloween night forty years ago.

With Carpenter and Curtis on-board, it’s difficult not to get excited for the reboot, which is being produced by wunderkind horror producer Jason Blum (who brought us this year’s Get Out and Split, among many others).

Reportedly “inspired by” Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green (who’s also directing) and Danny Mc Bride (who earned his horror chops earlier this year in Alien: Covenant and was arguably the most interesting element of that movie to boot) have “crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film.”

Certain factions aren’t too happy about Curtis’s casting, seeing the move as meaningless fan service. But looking at the pic of her above, in the classic Laurie getup, it’s hard not to get excited. Still, we have nearly two more years to wait for this one, so best get comfy for now.

Halloween is set to hit theaters on October 19, 2018.

Stay tuned to Wicked Horror for all the must-know news on the flick in the meantime.
