More Exciting News On The Upcoming Tales From The Crypt Reboot!

Tales from the Crypt

As previously reported, every horror nerd’s favourite anthology series, Tales From The Crypt, is set for a much-anticipated TV return, with maestro M. Night Shyamalan spearheading the project.

The man behind such spooky classics as The Sixth Sense is curating a brand-new, two-hour horror block on TNT – the very first of its kind on the channel.

The block marks the latest incarnation of Tales from the Crypt, which originated as a 1950s EC Comics series created by William Gaines.

This past weekend, during a round-table discussion at Wondercon, Shyamalan revealed a few more juicy details about the upcoming reboot, including the most pressing of all – whether or not The Cryptkeeper will feature.

“There will [be a Cryptkeeper]” Shyamalan said simply, making the days of fans all over the world. He also revealed that previous plans, for series-long story arcs, may have now been shelved in favour of the classic anthology model:

You know, I can’t say 100% but I’m thinking right now, where I am, if you’d asked me this six months ago I would have a different answer, but where I am right now it’s more individual Black Mirror kind of stuff right now

In addition to Shyamalan, James D. Stern (Looper, Freeheld) is executive-producing Tales from the Crypt with his company Endgame Entertainment, alongside Aloris Entertaiment’s John Santilli and Dan Mc Kinnon.

The original comics spawned multiple seasons of the cult classic show for HBO and became a worldwide brand.
