Leatherface Secures Distro, Directors Call the Film a “Brutal and Nihilistic Road Movie”

In an interview with Bloody DisgustingLeatherface directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo revealed that the film has secured US distribution via LionsGate, the same studio that distributed Texas Chainsaw. They also offered a brief description as to what we can expect from the film. The duo told BD that Leatherface is “a brutal and nihilistic road movie that we hope will surprise and delight the fans…”

Lili Taylor, James Bloor Sam Strike, Stephen Dorff, and Angela Bettis star in the upcoming prequel, which will follow Leatherface as a young man.

Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo (Inside) are at the helm of the latest entry in the rebooted franchise. The script was penned by Seth M. Sherwood. It is expected to see release later this year but an exact release date has not yet been announced.
