Halloween Complete Collection 10-Disc Edition Product Review

[soliloquy id=”10045″]

I was fortunate enough to get a copy of the Halloween 10-disc complete collection in the mail from our Anchor Bay rep and since we have already covered the 15-disc edition on the site, I wanted to take a moment to say a few words about the 10-disc collection.

The 10-disc edition lacks the producers cut that is included with the limited edition 15-disc box set. And while that is a pretty big deal, that is really the only life or death difference between the two. The 15-disc set comes with a lot of special features not included in the 10-disc set – some of which I wish were included in both – and some that I would never watch, like the television cut of Halloween II.

The 15-disc sets will eventually sell out and if you miss your chance to get your hands on one of those, the 10-disc set is not a bad alternative by any stretch of the imagination. For a substantially lower price, you get all of the films – including the two Rob Zombie helmed entries – in stunning HD resolution. You also get many of the bonus features included in the limited edition box set, such as audio commentaries, featurettes, still galleries, promo footage, and more.

If you are a die hard fan of the franchise, there is no question. You will want to go with the 15-disc limited edition collectors set. But if you are a casual fan that wants to have the films on hand to pull out and watch on Halloween, the 10-disc set is a very good alternative and it comes at a much more affordable price.

Have you picked up your copy yet? Have you gotten through all 10 or 15 discs? If so, let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you haven’t picked up your copy and are still looking to do so, the sets are both on sale through most major online and big box retailers. If you are after the 15-disc collection, act quickly because they won’t be around forever!
