[Updated with special features. Thanks to reader Frankie Smales for the tip.] Tom Holland’s Fright Night was granted a limited pressing Blu-ray release a few years back by Twilight Time but it quickly sold out and as the demand grew, copies of the film began to command outrageous sums from online resellers. Twilight Time has just announced that they will re-release the film on Blu-ray in honor of its 30th anniversary. As with the previous Twilight Time Blu-ray release, it will be a limited edition offering.
The film will be available beginning January 21st. Full specs for the film’s Blu-ray re-release have yet to be announced but we do know that genre film journalists Ryan Turek of Shock Till You Drop and Rob G of Icons of Fright have recorded commentary for the film. WE will keep you apprised as more details become available.
Fright Night revolves around Charley Brewster – a high school student fascinated by all things macabre – who discovers that his next door neighbor is a blood-thirsty vampire. When no one believes him, he enlists the aid of television vampire hunter Peter Vincent. The film stars William Ragsdale as Charley and Roddy McDowall as Peter Vincent.
