Exorcist Reboot Adds a Bond Veteran to its Casting Roster

Fox TV's The Exorcist

We have just learned via Deadline that Fox has cast Kurt Egyiawan (Skyfall, below) as Father Bennett, a liaison for the Vatican in the upcoming small screen redux of William Peter Blatty’s The Exorcist.

Egyiawan will join previously announced cast members Hannah Kasulka, Brianne Howey, Alfonso Herrera, and Ben Daniels.

From what we’ve gathered, Brianne Howey will be playing the character that becomes possessed. The pilot was written by Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect). Rupert Wyatt will be assuming directorial duties on the first episode. The show is being described as “a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller following two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession and confronting the face of true evil.”

No word at this point on when the show will commence principal photography or when we can expect it to make its debut on television. However, it seems to be gaining an awful lot of steam as of late. So, stay tuned for more news on this small screen adaptation and all of the latest horror news as it is relayed to us!Kurt Egyiawan
