A producers’ cut of Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers has long been discussed, however, it’s not been until recently that audiences have actually had any prospect of seeing the film the way the producers wanted you to see it. But thanks to a partnership between Anchor Bay and Scream Factory, Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to Blu-ray with a ton of special features – including the producers’ cut of The Curse of Michael Myers

In the clip below – which is taken from an interview included in the upcoming set – Malek Akkad talks about how the studio interfered with the production process of the sixth film and required that very specific changes be made to the picture.

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is seen a a missed opportunity by most fans. The film’s producers’ have essentially disowned the film in its current form. But it wasn’t always as muddled as it appeared upon the film’s theatrical release. The producers had a very different vision for the film and you will soon be able to see the picture as it was intended.

The Complete Collection will include both the theatrical cut of The Curse of Michael Myers and the long awaited producer’s cut. The set will feature each title in the Halloween franchise – including both Rob Zombie remakes.

The clip below gives you an idea of what the HD transfer of the films will look like and also some insight into the sixth film from Malek Akkad (son of Moustapha Akkad). Each of the titles in the set will be presented in 1080P Anamorphic Widescreen (with the exception of the television cut of Halloween II). You can pick up the collection beginning September 23rd!
