Readers of a certain age will remember a little show called Are You Afraid Of The Dark?, a Canadian concoction that played on Nickelodeon back in the nineties and was, by all accounts, considerably more nightmare-inducing than its younger sibling Goosebumps.
A whole bunch of soon-to-be huge stars had cameos over the series’ seven-season run including Ryan Gosling, Neve Campbell and loads more. The show actually ran until the turn of the millennium but, for most of us, it’s a nineties gem whose darkness we probably still couldn’t handle in adulthood.
Now, according to The Tracking Board, the cult favourite is about to become a movie courtesy of Paramount. Not only that, but Gary Dauberman (who penned this year’s horror hit IT, along with, er, Annabelle: Creation) has been tapped to write the script.
Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps at the moment, but we’ll keep you informed as more info becomes available.
